Stealth in Naval Architecture
Reeds Vol 14: Stealth Warship Technology is the first book to offer a focused examination of stealth in warship design – a field of growing strategic importance. With naval forces worldwide adapting to new threats, stealth has become a defining factor in modern naval architecture, influencing every aspect of warship construction.
This insightful volume explores the impact of materials and design choices on a warship’s stealth profile, while providing a broader understanding of how and why naval platforms are evolving. It examines the global shift towards incorporating stealth in military hardware, including first-generation stealth platforms now being adopted by emerging navies.
Historical references to stealth aircraft, ships and major military events place today’s developments in context, while offering readers a foundation in the specialist skills and thinking behind this rapidly advancing field. Essential reading for anyone with a professional or academic interest in naval architecture, defence technology or maritime strategy.
