This stretch of coast is the most popular foreign cruising destination for UK-based sailors, with easy Channel crossings, good marinas and a coast full of interesting harbours and anchorages.

The pilotage here covers harbour plans, approach directions, tidal information and notes on facilities. Large tidal ranges and strong currents in parts of Normandy and Brittany make reliable pilotage important, particularly around the Channel Islands and the north Brittany coast.
