Rule-by-Rule Clarity on the Collision Regulations
Reeds Marine Deck 1: Collision Regulations Handbook is a practical and user-friendly guide to the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (ColRegs). Written by expert maritime trainer Simon Jinks, it offers clear rule-by-rule explanations of the ColRegs, helping students and professionals alike understand and apply the rules both in exams and in real-life situations.
Colour illustrations of all lights and shapes, plus clear diagrams, support comprehension. Additional chapters cover bridge watchkeeping, radar plotting, and techniques for answering ColRegs questions under MCA exam conditions. The handbook also highlights how other maritime regulations interact with the ColRegs.
Adapted from years of the author’s teaching experience, this book is ideal for MCA Masters, OOW, Boat Master and Chief Mate candidates, as well as those preparing for RYA Yachtmaster and IYT Master of Yacht qualifications.
