Beyond the Sailing Directions
The cultural companion that transforms navigation into exploration, revealing the stories and secrets of Ireland's maritime heritage.
Written by Mike Balmforth and Norman Kean, this guide is intended as a companion to the ICC's Sailing Directions pilot books. Covering the entire coast of Ireland, it provides all the information you need to make the most of this spectacular coastline.
This volume explores the parts the sailing directions don't reach – the history, culture, scenery, geology, wildlife, economy, monuments and fascinating trivia of Ireland's coast. Created by cruising sailors for cruising sailors, it's an essential companion for anyone wanting to understand the rich context beyond the navigational details.
Discover local history, useful information about places to visit ashore, and entertaining anecdotes about Ireland's nautical past, all enhancing your cruising experience along this remarkable coast.
