About the Author

Mike Bender is an experienced yachtsman and qualified Ocean Yachtmaster, with approximately 40,000 miles, mostly singlehanded, under the keel. He is an Honorary Research Fellow in History at the University of Exeter, bringing a unique blend of practical sailing experience and academic rigor to his writing.
