Sextants

Three working sextants are available to order: the Celestaire Astra IIIB Deluxe, and two models from Freiberger Präzisionsmechanik, the Yacht Sextant and the Drum Sextant. Freiberger instruments are made in Germany by the only manufacturer still producing full-size precision sextants to traditional standards.

The Astra IIIB is the most widely used sextant in the world, a sound choice for offshore sailors and students of celestial navigation. The Freiberger instruments are a step up in precision and price, suited to professional navigators or those who want the best available. All three are on special order; expected lead times are shown on each product page.
