Cape Horn to the Antarctic Peninsula
Passages, harbours and anchorages in Chile, the Beagle Channel, the Falklands and the Antarctic Peninsula, with Imray sketch plans.
A cruising guide to Chile, the Beagle Channel, the Falkland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. It began with broadcaster Paul Heiney's own voyage and combines his first-hand experience with navigational information and knowledge shared by other sailors who have cruised there.
Key passages, harbours and anchorages are described, with Imray sketch plans and colour photographs.
What's in this edition
The second edition has been revised and updated throughout by bluewater sailors Tom and Vicky Jackson.
About the author
Paul Heiney took up sailing in his early twenties in a 17-footer, which he took across the Thames Estuary and on to Holland. He has sailed his 38-foot cutter Wild Song to Cape Horn and back, largely singlehanded. He sailed in the Azores and Back Race in 2003 and the Singlehanded Transatlantic Race in 2005, nearly 3,000 miles in 32 days alone, and has written a regular column for Sailing Today.
