Kempston to King's Lynn
60 miles of the navigable Great Ouse and its tributaries, with navigation notes, plans and quick-reference tables of moorings and facilities.
A guide to the navigable River Great Ouse by Chris Howes. It starts at the head of navigation at Kempston, upstream of Bedford, follows the river downstream for its full length and then goes up its accessible tributaries. It covers 60 miles of navigable waterways, including the tidal section to King's Lynn and the Cambridge Backs World Heritage site.
What's in this edition
The seventh edition has been revised with new photographs and updated technical and local information. The navigation notes come from the author's recent research on the water, with narrative and photographs of points of interest. Moorings, facilities and services are set out in quick-reference tables alongside the plans.
About the author
Chris Howes is Deputy National Chairman, Eastern Region Chairman and past Peterborough Branch Chairman of the Inland Waterways Association. He has lived on or near the River Great Ouse for much of his life.
