Clyde, North Channel and Solway Firth
Updated by Geoff Crowley, with Belfast now included, new photographs and plans revised against the Imray 2900 Firth of Clyde chart pack.
Part of the Clyde Cruising Club's Sailing Directions and Anchorages series. It covers the Firth and River Clyde and the lochs off them, including the Kyles of Bute and Loch Riddon, Loch Fyne and the Crinan Canal. It then goes beyond its title to the North Channel and the Solway Firth: the coast of Northern Ireland from Rathlin Island to Belfast Lough, and the Scottish side from Stranraer to Portpatrick and on to the Solway Firth and Cumbria.
What's in this edition
This edition was updated by Geoff Crowley. The North Channel section now includes Belfast itself, new photographs illustrate the text, and plans have been updated with reference to the Imray 2900 Firth of Clyde chart pack. References to Bob Bradfield's Antares large-scale charts are included. Updates and corrections are published on the Clyde Cruising Club website.
Praise for Firth of Clyde
"Drawing upon an impressive list of sources... All charts, photographs and commentary provide unique information for sailors wishing to undertake real or ‘virtual’ cruises in the finest areas of west and northeast Scotland."
– Cruising Magazine
About the Clyde Cruising Club
The Clyde Cruising Club has published Sailing Directions for Scottish waters since 1909, first as the Blue Book and since 1974 as a series of regional volumes. Since 2011 these have been merged with Martin Lawrence's Yachtsman's Pilot series (Imray), with editorial control remaining with the Club.
About Imray
Imray has published nautical information for recreational and professional mariners since the mid-18th century. It is now part of FB Imray, a joint venture with the Austrian cartographers freytag & berndt, and is recognised by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency as a chart producer.
