About the author

Sam Steele learnt to sail in her home-built Mirror dinghy on the Norfolk Broads. She has sailed offshore for over 40 years, logged over 25,000 miles at sea and gained her RYA Yachtmaster at 20. She has sailed to the Azores and back, cruised the Canary Islands and sailed around Britain, and for the past nine years has been exploring the Baltic in Carra, her Rustler 42.
