About the ICC Sailing Directions
The Directions, in two volumes, aim to describe every feasible passage, port, harbour and anchorage on the coasts of Ireland. They grew from Harry Donegan’s pilotage notes of around 1910 and have been published by the Irish Cruising Club since 1929. Amendments are published online between editions, and new editions appear every four to five years. Aerial photographs are by Kevin Dwyer and sea-level photographs by Geraldine Hennigan.
Praise for the ICC Sailing Directions
“…it is well-nigh perfect. There is no alternative and there is no need for one.”
– Cruising magazine
“Approach any port without these navigational directions on board at one’s peril.”
– The Irish Times

– Captain Robert McCabe, Commissioners of Irish Lights
