South Biscay

The eighth edition of the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation's South Biscay covers the Spanish coast of the Bay of Biscay, from Hendaye on the French border to A Coruña in Galicia.

Steve Pickard revised and updated this edition, with information on marinas, ports, anchorages and passages, new photographs and updated Imray chartlets. Introductory sections cover the region's history, culture and tourism, and regulations, weather and other topics relevant to yachts.

About the author

Steve Pickard first visited South Biscay and Mediterranean Spain on a yacht delivery in 1976. He joined the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation in 2009, and more recently circumnavigated Spain to survey the coast from Galicia to the Gironde. He died in early 2024 after a short illness.

About the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation

Imray has worked with the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation since 1985. The Foundation is a charity that collects and researches pilotage, navigation and weather information for small boats, including for remote areas where other sources are scarce. Imray turns its material into books, drawing the cartography itself, often where there is little official survey data.
