About the ICC Sailing Directions
The Irish Cruising Club's Sailing Directions, in two volumes, aim to describe every feasible passage, port, harbour and anchorage on the coasts of Ireland. They trace their origins to Harry Donegan's pilotage notes of around 1910 and have been published by the Club since 1929. Amendments are published online between editions, and the aerial photographs by Kevin Dwyer and sea-level photographs by Geraldine Hennigan are chosen for their navigational value.
Praise for the ICC Sailing Directions
"…it is well-nigh perfect. There is no alternative and there is no need for one."
– Cruising magazine
"Approach any port without these navigational directions on board at one's peril."
– The Irish Times
"…a respected and much-used publication here at CIL."
– Captain Robert McCabe, Commissioners of Irish Lights
