Electrical Systems Guide for Engineers and Electricians
Explains marine electrical systems with safe practice, diagrams and troubleshooting – ideal for engineers, ETOs and STCW certification.
Practical Marine Electrical Knowledge – Fourth Edition is a comprehensive guide to the electrical systems found on board ship. Designed to assist marine and electrical engineers in meeting the STCW knowledge requirements for management and operational level endorsements, it clearly explains electrical operating principles and safe working practices across a range of onboard applications.
This practical reference covers common problems and troubleshooting methods, battery support and maintenance, ancillary systems, electric propulsion and high voltage procedures. Each topic is presented with a strong focus on real-world functionality and safety, supported by testing guidance and system diagnostics.
Suitable for marine engineers, electrical engineers, electricians and engineering students, this book also includes an overview of programmable logic controllers and special electrical practices for hazardous environments.
