Navigate 6,000 km of Dutch canals – with stops, maps and tips

A user-friendly guide to the Netherlands’ full network – with 300+ moorings, mast-up routes, practical info and commentary for the whole crew.

With 6,000 km of navigable waterways, the Netherlands offers one of the most extensive yet compact cruising grounds in Europe.

This book is a user’s guide to the whole network, covering all the mast-up routes and excluding only those waterways with less than 3.5 m bridge height. Navigational details are provided for each waterway, including dimensions and expected obstacles, with service arrangements for bridges and locks. Over 300 stopping places across all 12 provinces are described – from large harbours to quiet moorings well off the beaten track. Nearly 100 principal venues include expanded details on what to do and see, local facilities ashore, and the authors’ selective (and subjective) restaurant tips.

Designed for all crew members – not just the skipper – this guide is ideal for planning approaches and exploring attractions on arrival. Richly illustrated, the book offers a flavour of this water-loving country and helps prepare visiting yachtsmen, under sail or power.

This second edition features updated text and maps, along with many new photographs by the authors.
