Beautiful Anchorages Across the British Isles
A beautifully illustrated guide to over 100 anchorages across the British Isles, offering trusted advice, charts, and local insight from expert cruisers.
Anchorages of the British Isles is a curated collection of the most beautiful and remote spots in bays, rivers and harbours around the UK and Ireland.
The coastlines of Britain and Ireland offer some of the world’s most stunning and varied places to drop anchor – but finding sheltered, secure and scenic locations can be a challenge. Authored by an expert panel of experienced cruisers, this guide provides trusted local knowledge for every part of the coast, from the Scottish Highlands to the Channel Islands. Their recommendations will take you away from the crowds to discover the very best havens these islands have to offer – from peaceful Babbacombe Bay in Devon to Toberdenny in Ireland, a natural harbour of remarkable beauty.
Each anchorage includes a chart, striking photography and a concise description covering why to visit, hazards, approach and navigation notes, shelter, facilities, and local wildlife. Ideal for day trips, weekend escapes or extended cruising, this book is an invaluable planning companion for anyone exploring the coasts of the British Isles.
