Neat Chart Corrections

Stencil of buoys, light flares and pecked lines

An 8½ x 4-inch (215 x 101 mm) stencil of the shapes you draw most often when correcting a paper chart from the Notices to Mariners: buoy outlines, light flares and pecked lines, with a large triangle and circle and a ruled scale along each long edge.

It is thin, flexible plastic, a replica of the template formerly published by the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Limited lifetime warranty.

Correcting a chart

Correct in ink with a fine-line pen (Admiralty practice is magenta), drawing the symbol through the template at the charted position. If a symbol is unfamiliar, look it up in NP5011, the Admiralty guide to chart symbols and abbreviations.
