About the Author

Alastair Buchan began his sailing journey on the Clyde. In a Hurley 20, he sailed single-handed around Britain and completed his first solo Atlantic circuit. His second voyage was in a Dockrell 27, navigating from Britain to the Caribbean and onward to the USA via Venezuela and Cuba before returning home. His extensive experience underpins the practical insights shared in this companion.
